Violence threats force me to resign witness position
After the announcement of HF23, there were violence threats against I and my family. I cannot continue my witness position under such threats.
I have notified my witness team @dev.supporters, and the remaining team members are likely to resign as well.
I would like to thank steem users who supported me. Also, I appreciate kind words from users when I asked for advice after facing such unsuspected threats. (I would not name them here as they may become the targets also.)
Lastly, I don't know (and don't want to know) who you are and how you got this far, but your actions may backfire - you just removed arguably one of the most reasonable witnesses who may discuss or negotiate for your cause.
No offense man, but you are fucking stupid. Really I don't mean this as an insult, but you just are not able to think logically or reasonably.

Glad to hear you are resigning although i cant condone anyone threatening to hurt your family over your wrongdoings.
Anything you did is your fault and your fault alone.
If someone tried to rob me i would use violence if i had no other alternatives. You left these people with no alternatives.
I guess what you wrote in the second paragraph may be applied to 22.2 and hive fork, but it does not matter at this point. I will be away from this hive-related issue (at least for a while).

Having received my first ever death threat on Steem myself only weeks after starting out here and just blogging about working in the space sector, I have come to take it less seriously and more as what stupid people do when they're angry.
I didn't care what some malicious users commenting nasty things on steem, but this one - using personal info - was totally different story. So I decided to choose better safe than sorry.
I am saddened to hear of threats happening to you. I would even say that I hope the one responsible is brought to appropriate justice.
Ultimately, it seems that your removal mattered little as more sock puppets witnesses created and put back into place demonstrating once again that Steem is centralized. I do think that you are somewhat reasonable, at least more reasonable than others. Wishing you and your family safety in the future.
I remember having discussion with you. Even though we could not reach an agreement, I believe that it was a good opportunity to understand where each party was coming from.
At this point, I think that both steem and hive are centralized - how well it got disguised is a bit differ.

If you are stealing $5M, you can't expect from people to like you. There will always be someone who thinks threats and violence will solve something. If you have identity public on the internet, that's something you must consider when supporting theft.
Your witness had no power over the chain, if you wouldn't follow the great leader Justin's commands, your witness would be removed. We saw how discussion and negotiation worked out in @darthknight's case.
