Many past events occurred in Tangse terrority as well as the war between the Aceh warrior and the Dutch. It was known as the popular place because there were many Acehnese fighters were martyred on Mount Tangse. This place became a terrible hell for the Dutch soldiers because most of them were killed.

In the war the number of troops that failed in the battlefield. A public cemetery complex at Gampong Pulo Tangse Mosque became a witness. There are 3 tombs of Aceh heroes . This tomb is located beside Puloe Masjid mosque. Every week this tomb is always visited by pilgrims who want just a pilgrimage or off vows in the tomb of the cleric.

The first tomb is belonged toTeungku Mahidin or better known as Teungku Syik Mayet. He was a Commander-in-Chief of the Aceh Provincial Government after Teungku Syik in Tiro Muhammad Amin. When the war of Aceh declared, it became widespread throughout Aceh until he was martyred on 5 September 1910 in Gunong Halimon after two bullets from Dutch troops pierced his body. When Teungku Syik Mayet's body was brought back to Tangse for burial, thousands of Acehnese flocked him.

After Teungku Syik Mayet died, Teungku Syik Ma'ad Tiro was continued for the Aceh struggle. He was the son of Tgk Syik in Tiro Muhammad Amin. Althought he was still 16 years old, he was known as a smart and brave commander.

Once day, the Dutch soldier tried to persuaded him for giving a surrender and then get a peace talk because he was still a youngest boy. He refused to make a peace talk and declared himseld as the next martyr.

"I never agree to make a peace talk with the Dutch, they are totally a big trouble colonialist. It's freedom, dead or alive," said Teungku Syik Ma'ad.

Tgk Syik Ma'ad Tiro was martyred on 3 December1911 in a war at Alue Bhot Tangse, Pidie. Then, after Teungku Syik Ma'ad was shot, the Dutch beheaded of his head and then brought to the Holland. In addition, they also seized "Cap Sikureueng" (NIne stamp), which seals the letter belonging to the Sultanate of Aceh.

In addition, the third tombs was belonged to Teungku Muhammad Hasan. He also died in Gunong Halimon in 1910 in the struggle against the Dutch colonialists.

Until the end of the resistance with the Dutch, Aceh never signed a letter surrender to the Dutch. A tragedy of Acehnese nationality that at that time showed the greatness of an unequal nation. This is a gesture, a symbolism that provides the perfect digest and wisdom for the nation of aceh in war with the Dutch. Under international law, Aceh's sovereignty remains in the hands of the people never changing hands to the Dutch until the war is over.
