KRONG (Some traditional place to store the paddy rice)
In the Dutch colonial history to Aceh, noted that the Dutch trouble finding rice from people's homes, in Aceh. Dutch soldiers who surrounded the houses when it actually only get a little rice from the house.
As it turned out, the rice which are numerous, Acehnese save it in a giant sack, which is called by the name of "Krong". Now, krong in the picture above belonged to the government, because it is already used by the museum.
There are many stories when Aceh was colonized by the Dutch. What you see in the second picture is the house of a female warrior named Cut Meutia, she was a woman of valor, who made the Dutch soldiers would be overwhelmed his spirit in the struggle for freedom of Aceh.
Cut Meutia with hundreds of troops successfully beat the Netherlands at the time, though in the end Aceh fall into the Netherlands hand. In the history of Indonesia itself, only Aceh who can not be conquered 100%, while other regions fell.
Now, after the modern age, people of Aceh no longer need to store rice and paddy in the "Krong", because the existing modern equipment. I am interested in the krong, because when visiting the Cut Meutia museum, one thing that is still intact since ancient times is the "Krong".
