It was 1924 when Charles came to the world in that of Paris. His parents from Armenia already see in him the blossoming of a talent and do not hesitate to enroll him in theater classes from an early age.

His great fortune came however around 1933 when the talented young was noticed by the talented Edith Piaf.

She saw in him something melancholy and sweet, something that perhaps reminded her of the notes of her own heart and took him under her protective wing.
