Yozgat

Hittites in Yozgat for the first time in 3000 BC began to live. There are tumulus of this period in Yozgat. In the following years, Yozgat was conquered by the Phrygian Kingdom. After the Phrygians, Yozgat was conquered by the Cimmerians and Lydians.

In the 6th century BC, Yozgat was conquered by the Persians. And the Persians ruled Yozgat for two centuries. But after defeating by Alexander the Great, Pesler left Yozgat.

After the Persians left Yozgat, Yozgat was ruled by the kingdom of Cappadocia. Then Yozgat was conquered by the kingdom of Galatia. In 85 BC, the Roman Empire conquered Yozgat. The Sassani's attacked many times to conquer Yozgat but they did not succeed.

In 1408, Yozgat was conquered by the Ottoman Empire. After the breakup of the Ottoman Empire, Yozgat has become a city of the Republic of Turkey.
