Sinop

According to research, communities began to live in the Bronze Age for the first time in Sinop. In later years, Sinop was ruled by the Hittite kingdom. Sinop was a very important trade center. Therefore, many kingdoms tried to conquer Sinop.

Sinop is the capital of the kingdom of Pontus. After the fall of the Pontus kingdom, Sinop was ruled by the Roman kingdom. After the dissolution of the Roman Empire, Sinop became a city of the Byzantine Empire.

After the 11th century, the Turks began to live in Sinop and its surroundings. And the Ottoman Empire conquered Sinop. Many investments were made in the Sinop by the Ottoman Empire. After the breakup of the Ottoman Empire, Sinop has been a city of the Republic of Turkey.
