Bolivarian countries or Bolivarian republics is a denomination that brings together the six Latin American nations (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela) whose republican origin goes back to the independence wars carried out -partially or totally- by the ideals and the armies led by Simon Bolivar in the viceroyalties of New Granada and Peru.

Although Bolívar had nothing to do with the independence of Panama from Spain, much less with the emergence of Panama as an independent and independent republic (1903), this country is considered Bolivarian since, proclaimed the independence of the isthmus in 1821, the Panamanian patriots voluntarily united the former viceroyal provinces of Panama and Veraguas to the Gran Colombia and, dissolved this (1830), that territory was part of Colombia until 1903. In addition, Bolivar chose Panama as the seat of the Amphictyonic Congress.
