Lost Cities: Mesa Verde

Mesa Verde is a settlement that includes about 4,000 buildings, located in the southwest of the American state of Colorado, at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. Built it in the XII century, representatives of ancient culture pueblo.

Why did this happen? One version says that the pueblo were feared by the invasion of unknown tribes. But there is no confirmation of this. The hypothesis of a natural disaster was also not confirmed - no traces of a fire, flood or earthquake were found on the territory of Mesa Verde.
