I don't know if you've covered it, but it seems that the mythical land-bridge between India and Sri Lanka has been discovered, too.
I watched an interesting lecture on the Great Courses site once; it was about how the universe as we know it today would one day disappear, and when it does there will be no way to know that it ever existed. In those days, if humans still exist, they'll have no way to 'prove' that things were ever any different than the way they will know them to be. It is quite possible we've already gone through such an event sometime in the past.
