@djlethalskillz brought me here if there's anything going on with the upbringing of hip-hop, I want in. My steemit page is all about hip-hop history, the elements, politics, entrepreneurship, finance, fashion and tons more. If there's anyway we can help, please let me know. Peace and love!! Good to hear you're on board with this, we could need some more input on the idea of making an agreement. I'm thinking #thecut was needed,because #hiphop is too broad to make a community here.
Quick history so far: First I was thinking that the rappers needed our own tag because we had a nice community going until @rondonson took a break from hosting the #rapchallenge. Next step was that if I'm going to propose a tag for original Steem rap, why not try to get the beat makers on it as well? Now it seems obvious that all elements should be included in the cut. But why not just use #hiphop then? I'm still thinking that could be too broad to create a sense of community here.
The cut, I'm thinking needs to specialize in original STEEM hip hop and that's why we kind of have to make some kind of unofficial "'Black paper' Steem hip hop apprehension". Something very simple to respect but I'm not sure how to put it yet.. Trying to gather as many opinions from everywhere but so far we seem to kind of agree on that #thecut should be a place for the community here. Perhaps any original art from the original elements should get this tag. As well as original posts addressing not hip hop in general but "Steem hip hop". Like community discussions, showcasing Steem artists or hip hop competitions on Steem?
You seem to know a lot about the history of hip hop so any help to formulate these things would probably benefit the community a lot! And since not all of your posts have to do with Steem hip hop you can also help a lot on how to formulate what posts should go under #thecut and which ones should just have #hiphop as a tag.
