Invitation for the Steem hip hop community to help write “#thecut agreement”. Here AND on Discord!

The cut is the idea of a sustainable hip hop-creators community on Steem! This is a continuation on my proposal for a more sustainable community. In short my goal is to create an attractive tag for people to use for original hip hop music on Steem. For this to be attractive I'm really pushing that as many of us as possible help out to create the terms for how to use it. And then release it at full force for everyone but owned by no one. 

I’m happy to inform that #thecut seems to have the most approval amongst the Steemit heads! We’re now moving on to the next phase. I’ve talked to the great people moderating the SMA (Steem Music Alliance) discord channel and we have gotten our very own #thecut room! Special thanks to @seveaux, @macchiata, @djlethalskillz and @chiefmappster, some of the helpful moderators at SMA. This post have two purposes, first I want to invite all rappers and beat makers to #thecut on discord and then I’m going through what I think the next steps are to make this come to life!

If you haven’t used discord before you’re like me until I found SMA. It’s really simple to use, their community is already filled with musicians who wants to collab and the server can even host “radio shows” streaming music from Soundcloud or Youtube. If you still feel like staying on Steem I will keep updating here on what’s happening at discord as well. And look for opinions everywhere as we create “The cut agreement”. The goal right now is to have it posted january 1 and after that no one can change this initial agreement. You can of course start using the tag already but remember that until this agreement is posted we really have nothing to refer back to and it’s not as stable as it could be with more initial support. We, everyone interested in a tag for original hip hop on Steem are creators now. But after January 1 #thecut will cut loose from us to gain immortality and a life of its own. This is supposed to be a tag that nobody owns but respects on Steem, but the initial agreement will be passed back and forth on the above discord channel until it’s finished.

Please help to invite every rapper and beatmaker on Steem by creating your own similar post or resteeming this! This project is all of ours until January 1, after that it will belong to nobody and is instead supposed to be an open arena that we all can benefit from.

So what’s the next step now?

We need to agree on some small things like the name of the agreement, who’s going to post it or if everyone that wants should do it on the same date. Maybe create a picture for inviting people to read these guidelines in the future. Just basically create some attraction to this original white paper/bible we're writing, if you will. Phrase these very simple guidelines nicely. Open for everyone but saying that this is the original purpose of the tag, do what you want with that. I’m not thinking rules just very clear communication from us to the future.

I will try to write up an example for people to pick apart on discord, feel free to do the same or just get to know the SMA community if you’re joining there! Otherwise please leave a comment here with your ideas on what to include for this tag to make it as useful as possible!

Again, I’m not doing this alone. We all need to be able to be proud coming from the cut. To represent the cut without owning it and align the elements of hip hop on Steem! See you in the comments and on discord, peace!!
