The borewell drilling vehicle was very large, with a generator and a hydraulic driller, and they had a lot of 10-foot-long drill bits, and they also had six-inch pipes to plug into once the hole was drilled, and they had a huge iron shaft to drill it. First, they jacked up the vehicle with wooden blocks. They did this to prevent the vehicle from moving while driving, so the vehicle's jack gripped the ground.

On the first day of drilling, they come to the Technical Express site, check the water flow, and make sure that water will be available where they drill. They mark it. They park the vehicle exactly at that location, park the drill where it needs to be drilled, and check whether the vehicle is level with a level meter. After all that is done, they start the generator and fill the compressor with air for a while because it is through air that the hydraulics work and drill the ground.

After everything was set up, they started working. First, they drilled out about five feet of soil and sand, then there was rock underneath. When they drilled into the road, it came out like a test fuck. Then the whole place changed. It was a bit difficult for us to see, but they were still working there. It takes about half an hour to dig a 20-foot hole. While digging, as soon as they descend a little, they dig out the damp rocks. Then, instead of dust, only sand comes out. The workers there set aside the sand that comes out. After digging a 60-foot hole, they insert the PVC pipe inside. They insert three pipes through the 20-foot pipes and start digging again.

The machine runs continuously. Occasionally, when the wind gets too strong, it over-flops. The white driver again drills with ten-foot-long drill bits. After going 10 feet, the next drill bit is attached to it and drives again. It keeps running and moving away. Even after reaching 120 feet, water does not come. They keep interfering again and again. After reaching 200 feet, water came. Since the water was stagnant, they said that there was a normal path there and that they could still drill. Only then will the water come in large quantities and reach far away.

They stopped drilling after drilling for 300 feet and then left it for half an hour. Then water started filling the hole. After the water filled, they pumped out the water and showed it to us. We were happy that the water came out with great force. The borehole was 300 feet deep and there was a pipe up to 60 feet, so the water would accumulate in the rest of the place. We could pump it in and take the water out through it and store it in our tanks. For now, we drilled a hole and closed it with a cap. They gave us a bill saying that we should pay them a service charge of 60 rupees and the total was 18,000 for 300 feet. Similarly, one foot of pipe was 200 rupees and 60 feet of pipe was 12,000 rupees. Their driver and attendants were paid 4,000 rupees. The total added up to 34,000. We paid them that amount through UPI and gave those helpers and drivers a thousand rupees as tips as we were satisfied with their service.
