Rocky Mountains Backcountry - Lake Carnarvon 📷

in hiking •  20 days ago  (edited)

This is an awesome hidden away alpine lake up on the continental divide high in the rockies, with a pretty big headwall to scramble up in order to camp here. This significant headwall keeps it pretty secluded but I've wanted to get here for a few years now, so made a weekend trip of it a few weeks ago and camped here since it's an open for random camping backcountry area, no facilities, nothing, just the wilderness.

Absolutely stunning surroundings though.

I have hiked up there several times over the years and consider it the most beautiful spot to get away to. Happy to see your pictures, brings back some memories.
