Pres. of the senate MARCELO BRIONES FERNAN

Good Day steemians. Today, I want to share a brief background of the Chief Justice, supreme court of the philippines year 1988-1999 and a President of the senate, senate of the philippines year 1998-1999 named MARCELO BRIONES FERNAN.

Pres. Marcelo Fernan was born here in Visayas, Cebu City on October 25, 1927.

After Pres. Fernan graduating from University of the Philippines or also known as UP a major of Law a year of 1952, He was obtained His master degree of Law from School named HARVARD LAW SCHOOL in the United States (US). His work in government included being a member of the Cebu City planning board, cebu provincial board member, delecate to the 1972 constitutional convention and assemblyman and assistant minoruty floor leader in the 1984 "BATASANG PAMBANSA".

Also He was appointed as a associate justice of fthe supreme court in 1986 and became the 19th chief justice of fthe supreme court in 1988. In 1995, He was elected as a senator of the 10th congress. At the opening of the 11th congress in 1998. He was aslo elected as a president of the senate. HE is the only cebuano to have headed both the judiciary and the legislature.

After all Her hard works, He married Eloisa Nolasco and Have a 9 siblings.
Walang Forever. Our Pres. of senate died on july 11, 1999.
