The blumea camphor is a small plant that has a slightly hardened and semi-bodied body and is covered with furry leaves. The flower grows clump-clumps in one branch. It usually grows in low-lying areas and vacant lots in some Asian countries, including the Philippines.

Sambong (Blumea camphor, Ngai camphor in English, Alibum, Alimon, Ayoban, Bukodkud, Dalapot, Gabuen, Gintin-gintin, Kambibon, Visayas and Sob-sob, Subusub, Subob to Ilocos.) Have a real name Blumea balsamifera of the 10 herbs recognized by the Department of Health (DOH - Department of Health) of the Philippines. It is an anti-acne itis helps as a diuretic, it helps to dispose excess water and sodium (salt) in the body and also helps treat kidney disease, also used to treat colds and moderate blood levels. It is also known as Anti-diarrheic, Anti-gastralgic, anti-diarrhea and Anti-spasm.

It is also commonly used to bathe newborns, cleaning the wound and cut.

There are many diseases that can be cured by a sambong such as a cough (fungal sputum), difficulty with pains, sore throat, fever, stomach and rheumatism. The leaves are also mixed with bathing and drinking for a newborns.
