Tomguts means "hungry". It is the reverse syllables of gutom (which means hungry too) artistically done by adding letter "s".

There was also a time that tomguts is also known as "Tom Jones". Yes, the famous singer. Funny it is that the singer's name means a different thing in the Philippines.
