belekoy
Belekoy is a Filipino pastry originated in Bulacan, Philippines. It is made up of sugar, flour, vanilla and sesame seeds. Of course, it is sweet but it is rubbery in texture.
I can compare this to commercial chewable candy. The sesame seeds coating it give it a twist compared to other Filipino pastries. I used to eat when iI every day when I was a kid and it usually sticks to my teeth. Nevertheless, I really love eating Belekoy. It is not as popular as it was when I was young. Before you can buy it anywhere. Now, you have to search for a specialty store just to have a bite of it. maybe it is because of the advent of commercial candies and pastries
