what is cholesterol level and what are it's types?
Cholesterol is defined as the amount of cholesterol in the blood and this is measured in milligrams (mg) per deciliters (dL) that is why doctors will always advise a patient.

Types
Low density lipoprotein:LDL particles contain a large amount of cholesterol and a smaller amount of proteins.
Too much LDL can put you at a higher risk of a stroke or heart disease. Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) refers to the major cholesterol-containing lipoprotein that are formed as the end-product of very-low-density lipoprotein .
High density lipoprotein: this is a good level of cholesterol because it takes from cell to removal and it's reduced high level of heart disease.
what kind of investigation are used to measure levels of cholesterol?
Lipid profile:lipid profile includes the measurement of cholesterol in two lipoprotein (high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density it is also called lipid panel is a test that measures the amount of certain fat molecules called lipids in your blood.
Fasting lipid profile: this means you will not consume much food in some time you will garage yourself when to eat or not.it gives accurate evaluation of the cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.
why is HDL is good cholesterol?
Protects against heart disease: it helps in reducing the level of heart disease by providing a good level of cholesterol.
HDL cholesterol is good because it helps move extra cholesterol out of your blood. high HDL levels helps carry cholesterol from the arteries to the liver, where the body can use it or excrete it.
cholesterol because takes the “bad” cholesterol (LDL) out of your arteries to reduce the chances of stroke, heart attack and builds the general body system.
In order to maintain a good HDL always eat healthy diet, exercise, take less of alcohol, engage in fruit much like oranges, pineapple, whole grains drink plenty of water it helps in digestion.

Hi @prudence21, HDL is known as good cholesterol because it reduces our level of heart disease and removes extra cholesterol from the blood. I certainly agree to that. I also noticed you that you said that maintaining a healthy diet 🥣, exercising and the consumption of less alcohol can help maintain good cholesterol. Best of luck in the contest friend 👍 .
