Self Medication

it's a common scenario a sudden ache a tingling sensation or a runny nose instead of going to the doctor you go straight into your medicine cabinet and reach for the nearest bottle. While taking medicine at home is convenient and often helpful it's important to understand that it comes with risks to the wrong medications taken in the wrong amounts for the wrong amount of time are bound to cause unwanted side-effects. The recommended dose of medication isn't a suggestion. It's a careful calculation. Insufficient dosage of certain medicines may prolong your recovery while too much of a medication may cause permanent damage. Over-the-counter medications make you feel better. The symptoms may be gone but the problem is still there. In fact they could mask a problem that is potentially serious.
There is a place for self medication but don't become entirely reliant on it. Life is busy but your health should always come first taking the time to see your doctor for something that doesn't feel right could save your life so listen to your body even those uncomfortable symptoms that trying to tell you something.

Antibiotics which are very harmful because nowadays we are getting resistance to all antibiotics and once the patient gets sick doctors are not able to give proper antibiotics and they get resistance and are not treated properly. Another drug with all those patients who are using the analgesics which also has very harmful side effects.

Self diagnosing an illness can lead to:
Wrong medicine and dose
Risk of overdose
May prolong recovery
Risk of Dependence
Medicines lead to habit formation
Risk of Antibiotic Resistance
Taking antibiotics when not needed can render them ineffective
Avoid antibiotics for common colds and other viral infections
Drug - Drug Interactions
Some medicines cannot be taken together
May cause undesirable drug interactions and adversely affect health
It is best to consult a doctor.
