What do you understand by heat stroke

Hello everybody as we know that summer is approaching and so one of the ailments heat stroke which is common in summer.

Heat stroke is a condition characterized by raised core body temperature caused by prolonged exposure to a hot environment.

There are two types of heat strokes one cause is due to non-exertional which is common in the young children and the elderly just because of the prolonged exposure to the sunlight or heat or hot environment.

It is because of their body's inability to control the body temperature that's why we see that they are more common sufferers from the heat stroke.

Young age workers who work in a hot environment or who exercise in a hot environment are also victimized to heat stroke.

Describe the symptoms of this condition.

Symptoms of heat strokes are headache nausea vomiting there can be convulsions and seizures and patients can go into coma and death is also a possible complication bystanders can find that the patient is profusely sweating and there may be a rapid breathing and a shallow and fast pulse.

Tell us the First aid that should be given to the patient

If someone is suffering from heat exhaustion help them to a cool place and get them to rest. Give them plenty of water to drink.

Even if the person appears to recover fully, you should seek medical advice. If their condition gets worse, call ambulance for emergency help.

The most common prevention is that the obvious factor is to avoid exposure to the sunlight and avoid going outside or working between 12 to 3 which is the hottest part of the day. Use loose clothes made up of cotton hemp linen or silk. Avoid alcohol because alcohol also reduces the body's ability to control the temperature then use sunscreens and the most important factor is to drink plenty of fluids. So all these things will help in prevention of heat strokes so take care and have a good summer.
