Greetings to everyone in Healthy Steem Community. Am happy to present my opinion on Hepatitis, the liver people which very common now in today world.

- What you know about hepatitis?

Hepatitis is a virus that cause swelling in the Liver. It is a virus that spread mostly through unsafe food or water, through body fluids, through anal or oral intercourse and inadequate sanitation. Hepatitis virus is mainly in three category;

• Hepatitis A Virus (HAV)

• Hepatitis B surface Antigen (HBsAg)

• Hepatitis C Virus (HCV).

Here in Nigeria, Hepatitis B and C are the common hepatitis virus that really affect, damage and cause inflammation to people.

- Have you seen a hepatitis patient ever in your surroundings?

Yes, have seen so many patients with hepatitis. I know a friend of mine who is positive with hepatitis, his doing very very well. Looking at him, you will not know that his been affected by this virus because his chubby and healthy.

How did I know about this? He complained to me that he has be treated Malaria Parasites many times now but he still didn't feel fine. Taking a close look at his face, his eyeball seems pale yellow in color so I advice him to go for Urinalysis test.

He went to a laboratory facility and conducted the test. Guess what was seen? Urobilinogen and Bilirubin was positive. The Medical laboratory scientist had to ask him to carryout hepatitis test since there's indication of his liver been affected. His blood sample was collected and the test was carryout respectively.

When the result came out, behold, hepatitis test was positive too. The Scientist then advice him to take the result to a doctor where he can be prescribed some drug for him to start taking and before leaving the laboratory, he was also advice to come for a complete Liver Function Test and the kind of food he should eat and those he should avoid.

Having taken all the advice into practice, my friend his doing perfectly well, very healthy and chubby as he was.

- Is hepatitis curable?

This swelling of the liver, hepatitis is not curable. Once you're diagnosis as hepatitis positive, you will be properly advice on what to do by a professional on how to go about in order to continue staying healthy.

Since there's no cure for hepatitis, the Government have done so well in creating awareness to the citizens to visit any nearest Government facility for hepatitis immunization. Taking the vaccine has help a lot of people to be on a safe side against this virus.

My people used to say prevention is better than cure. Now that there's a prevention drugs, I believe the number of people that would have been affected will be limited.
