Heat Stroke 👊

Hello everyone! Hope things are going great and that heat is treating you well.

Heat stroke is a severe condition that occurs when your body starts to overheat and can't cool down. It usually happens for two reasons, being out the sun for too long or working too hard and getting overheated.

It’s not just something petty – it can kill you if you leave it, and ignore it. So always drink water, beat the heat and if someone is dizzy or feels faint in heat, don’t think, just Get help ASAP. Life is precious, take care!

Let’s discuss something really important — your body’s indicators of heat stroke. Don't neglect them, your body is trying to tell you something!

You may feel giddy, disoriented or out of the blue get a god-awful headache. Sometimes people even faint. If you’re sweating heavily, or suddenly cease to sweat, it’s a big warning sign.

Look also for racing heartbeat, dry hot skin, or feeling extremely tired. If you or someone with you experiences this—do not hesitate, time to calm down and seek help right away.

If the Person Next to You Has a situation of Heat Stroke, don’t call for panic. All you have to do was a few simple steps—time is of the essence and a life is saved with your help!

First, quickly move the individual to a cooler location—shaded area, indoors, or anyplace out of direct sun. Ensure that they are on their back and comfortable.

Start cooling them down. Use a wet rag, gently fan them, or even a cool (not freezing!) water pour all over their body. Unbuckle clothes so airflow reaches to their skin.

Also, if the individual is conscious, provide them with small amounts of water. But if they are unconscious or confused, do **NOT give anything by mouth—call for medical help. You are being really good at just showing up.
