21 DAY BAREFOOT WALK AWARENESS & EXPOSURE - DAY 1

This just kind of happened serendipitously when I was out for a walk with the doggy after going on a pretty epic bike ride. I was walking in my slippers which I often enjoy doing...they are cozy as fuck...and they have really great treads on the bottoms...so ya they often become outdoor footwear.

I wasn't wearing any socks....top of foot started rubbing weird on the slipper so I decided to take them off and continue my walk....maybe 3km or so Barefoot.

I love walking around barefoot. I just don't always get in the habit of doing it. Last year I did get in the habit of doing it for a little bit while out with the doggy. I think there are incredible health benefits to spending more time barefoot. Will see if I can source some scientific research to confirm my thinking.

Anyways - 21 day barefoot walk awareness and exposure. This is a fun and funny one because people don't expect to see you cruising through the neighborhood or elsewhere barefoot. I definitely have gotten some funny looks which is fun and funny in and of itself.

Will be making a point of doing a few minute video each day of my barefoot walk exposure and awareness.

I am curious to see how tough my feet get as a result of increasing the amount of time I allow myself to move and groove with the grace that can only exist when your feet are butt naked.

This looks to be the face of me as my soft feet are getting familiar with the pavement and the gravel on the road. Baby steps to start - it's ok to use grass - personally I like to mix it up

First time I actually get on your block and may thanks for all the upvotes you've given me. Time to return some! Im a big proponent of barefoot walking. Just not on concrete or pavement. I think a lot of my balancing is developed from being barefoot most of life. I also train in muay Thai kick boxing which is done barefoot. As a result I think I have a normal gait and a decent run speed of 7minute miles that I can do in my sleep! Keep up the barefoot. I'd slap on some vibrams and go for a run in the woods! Don't forget to not overdo it if you have weak foot muscles! Tearing your foot muscles is unrecoverable! (plantar fascial tear, I think it's called?)

I've never walked barefoot because as a kid in florida the pavement was hot and there were thorns everywhere. As a result I have baby skin on the bottom of my feet. It's just never toughened up. I now try to walk on the grass barefoot and things like that because I've heard it's healthy. I think it's called earthing. It has something to do with connecting electromagnetically to the earth.

You are bringing amazing challenges here sir,great idea to bring up these.

It also depends on the type of surfaces you walk on as well. Concrete not so great because the concrete is not "real" and disconnects you from the earth.

Not to get too Woo-woo on you but you can look into articles regarding "earthing" or as I just call it, walking barefoot.

Grass is great, also anywhere that is 100% natural or also a place that is a bit uneven as well, so you can hit all those points in your feet.

I love walking barefoot and how it feels after. I currently live in Bali, Indonesia and try to do it as much as possible.
