The body has a natural inflammatory response to pathogens, toxins, injuries, stress, and irritants. 


Acute inflammation is a healthy process whereby the immune system repairs and defends the body, characterized by redness, swelling, itching, heat, and pain.

Chronic inflammation (also called low-grade or systemic inflammation) is a disturbance in the force that can lead to far more serious conditions from psoriasis to cancer. In this case, the complex inflammatory response has gone awry and actually damages the system.
