Have you ever been accused of being anti-science?

in #health7 years ago (edited)

Found this on FB and I couldn't resist to comment. I've been making a few suggestions about how to manage medicine using blockchains and have found great resistance when questioning how things are done now, specially when it comes to preventive medicine.

I do have a question which I hope you don't take as anti-vaxx for I understand how some vaccines may have made things better. I'm not questioning that many vaccines work as intended, what I wish to question today is how we would know without a control group.

Many people talk about this issue as if it's something that science has settled, as if to question anything related to vaccines made you anti-science...what I want to know is what kind of science experiment is complete without a control group...

Sure vaccines have been subject to testing with temporary control groups, but are we studying a group of people for the long run, through generations? If not, how do we know what the real impact of not just vaccines but many other treatments are without nothing to compare them to? I'll wait for your answer but don't expect it.

Don't be so scared of being labeled.

Here's another one:

And then there's the questionable scientific validity of allowing someone with a vested interest in the outcome be responsible for their own clinical trials.

@tommycardero We all make assumptions how things are. The problem is when someone don't question their assumptions, blind faith. Scientism is still strong at the moment so education about scientific method is key now.
