Worship Your Body - A new perspective on what it means to be your own temple in modern times

Our bodies are the very temples we truly worship life through. Our eyes are the stained glass windows of our church and as true of any church, God can be found inside. We go into a church, mosque, synagogue to get closer to God. The further we go within ourselves the closer we come to the creator that resides there. The view that God is an external, patriarchal figure is dissociative. Every journey in life, even if it spans thousands of miles is always a journey within. Just as one takes off their shoes before entering the house of the lord, we must hold our bodies in the same reverence. Anything less is a sin. No one should be allowed to walk all over you and you certainly oughtn't leave muddy footprints there yourself.

Think of all our mistreatment to these beautiful vessels that take us through life. We shout things like, "I hate you" at the mirror. We pinch fat around our bellies and grumble "I'm ugly". Some cut themselves. Many fill their bodies with toxic foods by day and then toxic liquids or chemicals by night. We pollute our minds with skewed and slanted information (disinformation) designed to dis-empower and segregate us. We litter our temples with trash. You would never do that in a real-world, religious temple so treat your ultimate place of worship, your hallowed body, the same. It's the only place you'll ever live, the only true home you've got and the only worldly gateway to God.

If you don't like the way your body looks or the limits it has then alter them. Renovate from the inside and the outward structure will change. Become the monolith you wish to see yourself as and your temple will shine for all around and others will feel compelled to treat your temple with the respect it deserves. Alter the altar. Become the shrine. I pray you do.
