Did my hot feet save the life of my landlord?

in #health5 years ago (edited)

I have always had a high amount of energy in my feet and the constant heat makes wearing shoes very uncomfortable. So, I don't wear 'em.

Even at night they must be outside the covers, no matter how cold it is out there.

They are just ALWAYS hot.

The Universe moves in wondrous ways

The company I am working for rented me a bedroom in a Yorkshire family home six months ago to film the construction of the UK's most advanced solar farm. The proximity of the home to the site was the key and there were no other options.

The landlord is a hard working show horse owner. His diet is terrible and he doesn't seem too interested in anything except horses.

You can see his home and stables here.

The weed incident

He tends to avoid me these days due to a certain incident when he caught me smoking herbal goodies in his garden, but he didn't kick me out (thank goodness) and in fact prompted me to fast for a week before enjoying a month of complete abstinence from everything except raw food & distilled water.

I was grateful to my landlord (despite his anger and aggression toward me) and knew very well that without him I would not have reminded myself how easy it is to maintain total sobriety. I even cleansed the energy in his house with sage and sent him some Reiki.

The feet always lead us somewhere...

Today, under the intensity of the full moon he felt inclined to go to the doctor, but not because he felt sick.

moon.jpg

Upon seeing me eating the apples from his own garden, he told me this morning that for the last few months (since the time I saged his house & sent him some Reiki) he has been experiencing hot feet all day long and just like me, he can't keep them under the covers at night.

The feeling was intensified by this full moon and it bothered him enough to book an appointment with the doctor today who gave him a full check up... only to discover that he has SEVERE type two diabetes and was close to falling into a coma. They were utterly shocked he was not experiencing more debilitating symptoms. Yet he was not. Just the hot feet and a desire to drink more water.

Symptoms of diabetes

This is what google says:

Screen Shot 20191012 at 05.32.31.png

The doctor told him explicitly that hot feet are NOT a symptom of diabetes and had no idea what that might be about.

What's interesting about this for me is that had he not felt his feet hot at night, he would have carried on living life as normal and might very well have suddenly slipped into a coma and died.

Perhaps it's just my ego wanting there to be a connection, but 'unexplainable' hot feet which led him to safety feels quite significant to me.

The comedy of the modern medical system

Naturally, he now has a bunch of pills he must take every day and was given a long list of foods he cannot eat, much of which is fruit and I am left wondering how it is that doctors can really believe what they are saying?

There is a big difference between refined/processed sugar and the natural sugar in fruit, known as fructose. If you think you have a 'sweet tooth' it is because you are a frugivore, which means you can live on fruit alone. That's right. You really can! Lots of people do. Our bodies run on sugar, but it must be unprocessed, natural sugar.

  • They told him to increase the amount of fish and chicken he eats. Errrr... right.

  • They told him to only have two pieces of bread a day. Why have any????

  • They told him the only fruits he could eat were apples, pears & berries. Seriously?

  • They told him he could only eat vegetables which grow above the ground. Sorry carrots.

  • Finally they told him that with a whole bunch of good old pharmaceutical drugs they should be able to get the problem under control in a year or two.

The comedy of people

I did my best to explain my perspective on these words of advice from his doctor and encouraged him to simply adopt a raw vegan diet for a few months and then return to his doctor for further tests, but naturally he didn't seem interested. What could I, a weed smoking hippie possibly know about this?

The most ridiculous part of all was that after learning this news from his doctor he went directly out to the shops and bought a can of coke and a box of doughnuts! I'm not joking.

People don't want to change their habits, they just want the quick fix in the form of a pill.

This is what his look like.

How is it we have become so disconnected from our own bodies?

Raw vegan diet

There isn't much a raw vegan diet won't cure, assuming you are eating organic.

There are many testimonials on YouTube documenting people who have cured their diabetes with a raw vegan diet. Here is one of them.

To be fair, Kristina cured her hypoglycemia with a raw vegan diet, but this disease usually evolves into diabetes. I have followed her channel for some time and can assure you she knows what she is talking about.

In conclusion

The only question which remains is... did my feet somehow connect up with my landlord's feet with the ultimate goal of prolonging his life?

Clearly we will never know, but I enjoy the thought anyway ;)

Over and out for now.

Thank you my friend for all these lovely extras you provide with tipu & giphy. I don't fully understand what it is you are doing though? What is the curate number about?

Pedant
From Wikipedia,

A pedant is a person who is excessively concerned with formalism, accuracy, and precision...

You die if you live on fruit alone.

Our bodies do not run on sugar, they are the first 'go to' place for the body, for purposes of metabolism.

If you never ate one single carbohydrate ever again, you'd be healthy.

If you never ate any protein or fats (especially fats - fully saturated one at that!) - then you would be dead with weeks!

Look at the two absolutes, and the truth shall emerge...

@lucylins sunday pedantry trip, is now over..and I have left the building.

Thanks for the new word. Never heard of a pedant before now.

You die if you live on fruit alone.

Are you sure about that?

I have lived with fruitarians who not only didn't die, but they were extremely energetic, athletic & spiritually connected. Far more than me anyway.

I wonder what you would say if I told you we actually don't need food at all?

You can just look at the sun and take the energy directly. Or use a breatharian technique to achieve the same effect.

There is a clear path upon which we can walk, should we choose.

foodpathpic2.jpg

And a pedant would likely find this path very difficult to explain with facts.

Aren't our bodies amazing, how they send us signals and communicate with us trying to to ensure we stay healthy. A lot of those symptoms of Diabetes that go unrecognized is because so many people live very unhealthy and disconnected lives and have grown accustomed to general feelings of unease, they think nothing of them. One of the hardest lessons for me is that we have to let others make their own decisions and respect them for those choices, it is their path and we can offer all the advice but it is their decision in the end. Your presence awoken a deep knowing in him, his body making a link between his dis ease and your ease in life, nurturing your well being from the fruits of his garden a gentle nudge but one that saved his life in the end.

Hey you!

Really good point here:

A lot of those symptoms of Diabetes go unrecognized because so many people live very unhealthy and disconnected lives and have grown accustomed to general feelings of unease.

I felt that with him. His life is all about routine and he doesn't seem to enjoy it very much. That's why he relies so heavily on sugary treats to keep him going.

In this situation it wasn't hard at all letting him take his own path of pills & doughnuts, but I know it is a different feeling altogether when it is someone you love. In a week or so I will say goodbye and never see him again. And I can't wait!!!!

At least I will be leaving him with lots of tomatoes, which are still ripening up in the greenhouse ;)

Thankfully he has been told he can eat these!

Check out the items on my Life Guidelines list in my recent intro post. Do any of those look familiar? LOL.

Hope you don't mind but I'm going to steal your Life Guideline list!

It is perfect :)

I assume you know the Toltec Wisdom 4 agreements: Be impeccable with your word. Don't take anything personally. Don't make assumptions. Always do your best.

I have found these and the daily words of Abraham to be most helpful over the years.

Footsies with the landlord? Love it. Some kind of amazing syncronicity right there!! It IS amazing how people just want the quick fix - and omg doughnuts and coke??? That's just insane. I do know diabetes that don't listen to all that advice - it's like they have a death wish. Of course you can do really well with a healthy vegan diet!! Crazy they don't consider it. And yay for hot feet. Now I'm worried I'm going to think of you in bed when my feet are outsid e the covers - hahah - @riverflows xx

haha! Footsies with the landlord. I like that!

This story reminded me of how the menstrual cycles of women can fall into sync when they are living together.

I must be careful with my feet this winter. Last winter I got chilblains which lasted months and was a bit irritating. First time ever. My body had become accustomed to the eternal Summer of Indonesia and not having carpets in France didn't help much!

Now I have slippers for when it is really cold ;)
