It's looks Ugly little ball but concentrates a beautiful array of health benefits in it's hard shell

There is no better snack way to add extra nutrition, flavor and crunch to meal than adding handful of walnuts, there will be no surprise that the regal an ornamental tree that is highly prized for it's beauty.

The outer shell looks like an fortress but it's inner content looks like an marvellous human brain, in appearance it's innocuous and unassuming, it's soft to bite and divine to swallow, it' wonderful nutritive goldmine the walnut.

The walnut kernel consists of two bumpy lobes that looks like abstract butterflies, the lobes are colored in white
and covered by an light brown, thin skin. These are partically attached to each other, these kernel are enclosed in round
or along shells that are in brown and very hard, the deleted walnut ranks as one of the most widely consumed nuts in the world.

Origin Walnut:

Walnut trees have been cultivated for thousand of years and the different types having varying origin, the walnut originated in India and the regions surrounding the Caspian Sea; it was originally known as the Persian walnut, but it came to be known as the the English walnut during the middle ages, when the English sailors carried and traded them throughout Europe and beyond. In the 4th century AD, the ancient Romans introduced the walnut into many of the Europeans countries where it has been grown since. White and Black walnuts are native to North America, as it's specifically the Central Mississippi Valley and Appalachian area, it's name is derived from the old English world wealth, meaning "foreign" or "strange".

Varieties Of Walnut: Known as basic three varieties:

1)Black Walnuts: These walnut have an very tough and dark outer shell, the inner shells are also thicker than those English walnuts. This shells have to be broken under so much pressure that the nutmeats are usually crunched as well, these are very distinctive cheesy flavor.

2)English Walnuts: These walnut are most familiar type, they are native to Asia and Europe; California is now their major world producer, these shells of English walnut are relatively easy to crack with a nutcracker and the halves of the nut kernel easily be removed into one piece.

3)Butter Walnuts: These are oilier and sweeter in tasting than the other two walnut varieties.

Storage Of Walnut:

Walnuts are perishable than other nuts because their high polyunsaturated fat content, if keep properly store from humidity, heat and light. Walnuts can be stored in cool and dry place for six months to year, keep them in the refrigerator or freezer. Keep raw shelled walnuts in their original package until get ready to use them, store in cupboard or other cool, dry place, they will stay fresh with date marked on the package, if there is no date, count on them lasting for two-three months.

Nutritional Of Walnuts Highlights:

English walnuts have an healthy nutrient profile, they contain approximately 65 percent fat, 15 percent protein, 14 percent carbohydrate and 6 percent fiber, the fat content of this marvelous nut may be frightening to a "fat phobic" calorie counter; therefore must to look the fatty acid profile a little closer to an appreciate it's value. In total saturated fat is only 6 percent, omega-6 content is 38 percent, omega-9 monounsaturated is 9 percent and the omega-3 is whopping 9 percent. The poly and monounsaturated to saturated fat ratio of this walnut, coupled with it's high protein low carbohydrate profile qualities as a superior food, one of the oldest foods, walnuts today are recognized fir their flavor, versatility and it's healthy benefits, walnut are not only beautiful but an ornamental nut can be used in a wide variety of recipes and eaten as nutritious snacks, it's an high time started loving these hard shelled heroes.
