The enigmatic idea known as "The Force" is founded on some very true elements, although being wholly fictional. The "Force" is frequently mentioned by members of a religious order known as the Jedi in the film Star Wars. The Jedi Order's warrior-priests were the principal proponents of what they thought to be The Force's core ideas.
Although the concept and the order are fictional, the values by which the Jedi conducted their lives are good examples of how to live one's life, especially in the middle of the current world's chaos. The concepts of the Jedi Code can easily be applied to construct a personal philosophy for living a decent life, complete with a healthy mental attitude, as long as the "Dark Side" of The Force is associated with bad influences in one's life rather than evil. The main elements of the Jedi philosophy are outlined here, along with some suggestions for how they can be applied to the hardships and tribulations of modern life.
Controlling one's emotions was essential for a Jedi, as their missions often needed them to stay as objective as possible. Fear and anxiety can have a severe impact on one's decision-making, which can have disastrous consequences in one's life. You can more efficiently find better answers to your difficulties if you take control of your tension and worry and separate it from the duties that need to be completed than if you let your anxiety affect your analysis of the situation. This philosophy does not advocate ignoring one's feelings, as this might lead to more anxiety disorders and psychological problems than it addresses. It simply states that people should make judgments based on logic and analysis rather than their emotions.
There is no such thing as ignorance; there is just knowledge.

The Jedi Order promoted the pursuit of knowledge with zeal. They erected a great library to support the Jedi's search for enlightenment, which held volumes of information on numerous topics and disciplines required to educate and teach a Jedi. They also shared their information in order to better educate those they were trying to safeguard. Many anxiety and phobia issues can be resolved if people take the time to learn about them. A little education can help someone overcome the worry and anxiety that comes with being exposed to a culture that is completely foreign to them. Worry disorders can sometimes be overcome simply by arming one's mind with enough information regarding the source of the anxiety, allowing the person to better understand and confront the situation.

There is no passion; instead, there is peace.
The Jedi felt that being excessively passionate about something was harmful, as it may cloud one's judgment and impartiality, similar to the first principle. Objectivity was crucial in practically every situation for those in their position. The same may be true of almost everyone in today's world. Emotions and passion can impair our ability to make appropriate decisions, as well as our ability to identify and remedy mistakes in order to avoid additional harm. Being cool in the face of an insurmountable bureaucracy can go a long way toward keeping one's mental health in check and keeping one from "going postal."
If you don't let your worry and anxiety build up by dwelling on the negative, your mind will be calm, and you will be able to make better decisions and see things more clearly.

There is no such thing as death; only The Force exists.
When a Jedi died, they thought that they became one with The Force. This allowed them to regard death as only a passage rather than a bad experience. Negative events can be portrayed as the "death" mentioned in the philosophy, with "The Force" acting as a metaphor for life itself when applied to modern life. In other words, it essentially states that, despite all the terrible events in one's life, despite all the worry and anxiety, the nausea created by corporate and familial responsibilities, life itself exists. If anything awful happens to you, take some time to pause and smell the roses, to use one metaphor to describe another. One vehicle accident or a wrongful firing will not define your entire life. Life continues to carry on, and you should, too.
Even in the midst of modern life's turbulence, it's difficult to see how all of the above concepts could fail to lead to a healthier state of mind. That is, if they are followed as if they were a personal philosophy rather than just instructions. Furthermore, if one adheres to the reverse of the aforementioned rules, one is likely to burn out rapidly.
