When the lockdown came into effect back earlier in the year, it meant that quickly hand sanitizer supplies sold out in many places around the world. It became one of the hottest items on the market and soon there were many new producers jumping in on that demand to try and capitalize on the opportunity to turn a profit from the surge in need for this product.

It meant that we saw alcohol beverage companies, fashion companies, cbd companies, beauty companies, and more, suddenly moving to produce hand sanitizer where they normally wouldn't. Before you knew it the market was flooded with options. But there was obviously going to be a few problems, of potential low quality sanitizer options making their way onto the shelves and into people's hands.

While some distillery businesses accidentally switched hand santizier with alcohol product, others have been recalled over other concerns.

More than 100 sanitizers from different brands across North America have already been recalled and new ones seem to keep coming.

The FDA has said that many of them might be toxic, and others might just not do the job that you think they will.

These are sanitizers that had been made widely available through well-known stores like Walmart and others.

Health officials say that some of them contain deadly levels of wood alcohol and menthol.
