The Mediterranean diet is a lifestyle rather than a weight loss diet

If you have problems with weight or health, then you need permanent changes in your daily diet to get rid of unwanted pounds and keep yourself at a normal weight. In this way, your health will not suffer, and you will be pleased because you will have the weight that you want.

As I said, the Mediterranean diet has nothing to do with a strict weight-loss diet, but it's about a healthy lifestyle that takes care of your body.

Studies have shown that the inhabitants of Greece, Italy, Spain and those around the Mediterranean sea have the greatest hope of life. The Mediterranean diet has very simple principles that have been established for thousands of years and is not the type of diet that tells us what we need to eat every day but rather general principles. The Mediterranean diet involves many vegetables, fruits, spices, olive oil, fish and red wine.

The Mediterranean diet is already famous all over the world. Many nutritionists tell us that this diet cure heart disease, cancer, diabetes, obesity and hypertension.

Moreover, the Mediterranean diet manages to quickly get rid of excess pounds and keep them as far as possible. And that happens quickly, easily and securely, without any side effects or hunger.

Why? Simple, because the Mediterranean diet brings a variety of foods that fully satisfy your appetites. You will not be stressed that you are always hungry and guilty because you eat as much tasty food as possible.

This diet has proven to be one of the healthiest way of losing weight in the world. It is based on unprocessed foods such as fruits, vegetables, pasta, whole grains, dairy, olive oil and fish - the basic food for almost any excellent cure.
Red meat should be consumed very rarely.

Diet includes many healthy food like fish, beans, quinoa, peas, bulgur. By renouncing pork and beef, you will decrease the consumption of saturated fats. Take care of how you prepare food. No matter how healthy the seafood and fish are, if you prepare them with flour and fry them in an oil bath, you are no longer in the Mediterranean diet but in the American diet!

Ideal garnish is not made of potatoes or rice but it should be made of vegetables (asparagus, green beans, kale, spinach, quinoa, bulgur, couscous, peas).

Almonds, cashew nuts, pineapple, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pistachios, peanuts have valuable nutritional properties for health as well for slimming diet.

Recent research has shown the importance of consuming fresh herbs and spices. They are a very rich source of antioxidants and other compounds beneficial to health.

Replace as often as possible butter and margarine with healthy oils: use olive oil as the main source for baking and cooking, extra virgin oil seasoned with balsamic vinegar or hazelnut oil.
