Photo Fun Contest - Week 16 – “Harbour/Yacht Club Photography”
Here are two entries for to contest.
The first one is a stormy sea near Cap Horn. I'm standing at the deck, while a weather is building up in the back, closing in on the ship. The winds are driving the sea agains the high towering ship. So it's pretty safe, but at the same time feels like a great adventure.
The second photo was take in Peru. We visited a fish market, where sea lions eagerly wait for some pieces to be thrown their way. It's a great spectacle and a lovely chance to see these majestic creature from such a close distance. Amidst all this activity are these too lovers, sunken into their flirtatious dance and oblivious to the fresh food near them. It seems you can forget almost everything when love is around.

nice photos. I have been to Cape Horn but did not see too much through the rain and stormy seas. We were not even allowed out on deck because the wind was blowing at 90knotts and the waves were 8 meters high! It was a wild adventure, to say the least. I loved every minute of it!
Wow, that sounds really thrilling. I hope you didn't get sea sick. Our ship, thankfully, lay pretty still during the weather. I find it's so special to have been there, also because of all the drama with ships that has happened there in the last centuries. I would love to spend some weeks in the lighthouse there and watch the sea.
No I did not get sea sick but many did! I too would love to go and travel some more in that area. Soon we are going to Calafate, Southern Patagonia and Bariloche. There are glaciers and spectacular mountains, I can't wait but am not looking forward to the cold weather.
Beautiful photos @travelingmom. I love the contrast between safety from the storm and the churning waves and upcoming storm. And of course who couldn't smile at the snuggling sea lions.
Yes, i really love the safety and cosy lifestyle on these huge cruise liners. Also watching the sea lions, like all animals, was a blast. It's so nice to see that they also love to snuggle and be cuddly to each other.
