its wonderful to see new life start .. looking forward to how things progress

It is looking good so far. It is best not to count your chickens before they hatch, but it looks like we are going to get 6 out of 7.

OMGosh! This takes me back!

When my son was about 16 years old, he applied for and received a loan/grant from the USDA and he started a little business out of our garage and corn crib.

At one time we had 200 eggs in the incubator (yeah it was pretty large scale for us) and they ALL started hatching one weekend; while he was away at his dad's house. I was responsible for ALL those little fuzzy guys and gals... Oh man.. I was a nervous wreck!

I can imagine. Rebecca called me at work in a panic because the chicks were hatching a little early and the automatic rotator was still on. We had a power outage last week and it threw off the timing.

She had to pick up the partially hatched eggs and set the aside to get the rotator out of the way.

We had a good hatch rate anyway. No harm done.

They are starting to dry off and get fluffy. So cute! More pictures to come.
