Crypto Trade Alert: Yesterday I Bought Gridcoin

Yesterday I got a tips from fellow Steemian @ropaga regarding Gridcoin. I looked it up and I thought it looked great from a technical perspective. Therefore I got in and I want to show you the daily chart:

Comment: As you can see, we have the MACD crossover signal in combination with a nice rise in volume for the last couple of days.

And today, it looks like it could take off, here is the hourly chart:

Comment: From this hourly chart, we clearly have a small breakout. It will be very interesting to follow this for the next couple of days.

Update: Haha, 1 minute after I posted this, Gridcoin was up 85%, crazy!!

Not a bad jump, but we are still lightyears from the peak. There is a lot of exciting development in the works on the GRC blockchain right now, and clearly the investor who caused this peak is well aware of that.

Hold GRC - you'll thank yourself later.

Sure, what is its use case and is it unique compared to other cryptos? Do you know anything about the team?

Gridcoin is unique because it's currently the only cryptocurrency rewarding BOINC computations. BOINC distributed computing network exists since 2002. and has 4.4 million registered users, so there's plenty of room for further Gridcoin growth. Even more, an enterprising scientist can set up his own BOINC project today and incentivize crunchers by distributing Gridcoins to them, effectively buying a lot of computing power.

Gridcoin dev team is currently ranked 21st on the Coingecko list (sorted by developer score). That's a very good ranking, on par with NEO, PIVX, Bitshares etc.

Aha, now I understand a little bit more, so basically if you have some unused computer power left, you could offer this power to BOINC.

For a novice, it sounds like useful project in addition to the great ranking.

That's correct - if you have some spare computing power, you can use it for BOINC (CPU, GPU and Androids are welcome). You will help science and earn Gridcoins in turn. You can even discover important scientific things and get recognition for that too:
