April 22, 1970 we hear about Earth Day for the first time.
An environmental movement is born that wants to focus on the need to PROTECT and CONSERVE the natural resources of the EARTH.
Already 8 years earlier in the United States the topic on environmental issues interested well-known politicians such as Robert Kennedy, but the drop that broke the camel was the environmental disaster in 1969 in California with the spillage of oil from the Union Oi offshore of Santa Barbara.

The time had come to bring the environmental issue to the attention of public opinion and the political world and on April 22, 1970 20 million Americans mobilized in a demonstration in defense of the Earth against environmental degradation and contributed to the spread all over the world environmental initiatives up to the 1992 United Nations summit in Rio de Janeiro.

To date, over 1 billion people around the world participate every year in the Earth Day,

which calls loudly for a future free from fossil fuel energy in favor of renewable and sustainable sources to aim for the development of the Green Economy.

Unfortunately, this April 22nd it will not be possible to take to the streets because COVID-19 requires the great effort to keep the social distance to avoid spreading the virus.
But just today it is essential to support the EARTH DAY through internet: instead of the city squares WE are in the virtual ones.
For this reason, the world multimedia marathon dedicated to the Earth, called
1 PEOPLE 1 PLANET, was organized to launch a message of hope and love for the Planet.

Take a look at the Earth Day Organization here to find out how to participate in this great event.

Governments around the world must be made clear that it is time to FIGHT the CLIMATE CRISIS which, in addition to causing environmental, social and economic damage, we now know that in addition to causing ** environmental, social and economic damage **, we now know that it increases the risk of spreading PANDEMICS

The correlation between Coronavirus and the environmental issue is now undeniable and scientifically proven.
