Today I'm grateful for a Platform Hitch

As we are getting ready for our trip to AR, we had to come up with a way to bring supplies. We bought this Toyota Highlander two years ago because it can seat six people. The only problem is the storage capacity is very limited. We solved this by using a car topper, but we still need more room.

We installed a trailer hitch and a 'floating' hitch platform. We tested it out today by going to the grocery store and filling our giant storage box with groceries. Normally, we have to fill the car with groceries, by the children's feet and on the floor.

No more! We have room in our car again!

Have you ever used a hitch platform like this before?

Oh my goodness, how does it connect? Isn’t that a lot of weight to be floating? I know the struggle though. We have a tiny trunk in the back of our vehicle and the groceries usually get packed on top of each other.

It connects with a normal 2" trailer hitch. Holds up to 500 lbs. We have SIX totes inside with room to spare. We brought all of our groceries in with two totes, made things a lot easier.

Since I have a pretty good idea where you are going in AR, I can understand why would you need more space! : -)
