Why haven't we thought of this before? The Government can solve all problems.

I was perusing some stories on Geek-wire, and almost had to go in for a triple-bypass.

Some Seattle tech-investor - Nick Hanauer -

Hanauer warns that economic inequality could destabilize our democracy to the point of civil war. His solution? Pay workers fair wages so they don’t come for the rich with pitch forks in hand.

This is a nice quote from the article. You would think that this guy advocates less government, read on...

The real threat to our republic is an alarming breakdown in social cohesion, and the cause of this breakdown is obvious: radical, rising economic inequality, and the anger and anxiety it engenders. The truth is that over the span of decades, American lawmakers (at the behest of economic elites like us!) have enacted policies that have depressed wages, stoked economic insecurity and exacerbated cultural angst and social dislocation. At the same time, a tiny minority of mostly urban elite (again, us!) have benefitted obscenely from our growing economic, political and legal power.

What he is talking about is that, the techno-elites are rent-seeking. Do you know what the answer is?

And they won’t be paid more until we change the way we manage our economy. This is the stark, simple fact at the heart of our ailing political system. Nothing is going to get better until we enact laws and standards that persuade or oblige every business to pay every worker a fair, dignified and livable wage. [Bold is my emphasis].

More rent-seeking. The government will be in charge of deciding winners and losers in our economic system.

So let me get this straight. The problem is caused by elites creating a system of rent-seeking and the answer is more rent-seeking by the elites.

Nick Hanauer, why not actually putting your own money at stake? Tell the people you invest in that they have to pay their workers a good wage or you won't invest in them. I have never heard of a government action that has helped everyone all the time. When government gets involved it will be the elites and the bought and paid for bureaucrats that will make the winners and losers. Nick, if you believe the government will solve these problems. Come see me I have a great bridge I can sell you really cheap.

The gap between the elite and the marginalized are yet becoming biger by the day. Something really needs to be done about this. I am not against capitalism, but the elite needs to see othe people as humans, and appreciate the value of them in the economy.

I can't say wither the common worker is undervalued. But using the government to extract wealth from all citizens to fix the injustice. Now, if he was advocating a 90% tax on the 1% percent. Even this won't work. Look at how Apple and other big companies keep money overseas to keep it from being taxed.

Nice post my friend i am @djnoel :))))
