Faith and good works: You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone. James 2:24

Jesus as the "son of man", as the personification of the perfections of God, came to give us the true spiritual life, the gift of eternal life. But this spiritual gift as a blessing is not in the afterlife, but here and now. That is why accepting our Lord Jesus as savior and believing in him as the one sent by the Father to the world, is to accept his example and his way, the way of mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness) and righteousness (golden rule, Matthew 7:12). If we truly love the Lord above all things, even above money and the physical pleasures, that is the path that we have to choose.
This is why faith and good works in the christian faith must always go together, faith without works is sterile and also blind. The Kingdom of Heaven is not a question of masks but of a heart humbly delivered to Jesus: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" Matthew 5:3.
The Apostle James with great concern dedicated with wisdom part of his epistle to discussing this important issue to the first christians: "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?" James 2:14.
And as an example, the apostle James gave us the rectitude and faith of Abraham in the face of the sacrifice of his son Isaac, although it must be clarified that Abraham had a direct knowledge of God, like the persons who receive the gift of eternal life (John 17:3) in this physical life. In the patriarch Abraham, the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), the faith, and the works walked together.
That is why the apostle James concluded his teaching by affirming this spiritual truth: "You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone" James 2:24.
