Thank you :-) Yes, the poppy (in dutch or flemish its called 'klaproos') has been used for quite a long time to commemorate the soldiers who have died in WW1. Some places like Ypres (Ieper) and Passchendaele (Passendale) were totally wiped of the map. Both my great grandfathers have fought in the great war. The flower blooms in the months of June and July. I will remind myself to make some pictures of them. :-) Great to hear from you!
