Prison Break Season 5 "Progeny" SPOILERS
If you are keeping count this is episode 8 of 9 for the entire season 5. As it says in the title there are spoilers ahead so if you haven't yet seen this episode or even worse any of the season... turn back.
If you have read any of what I have had to say about previous episodes in this season you probably already know that I am extremely critical of what happens in Prison Break because I feel as though every episode is the same thing as the one previous, they simply have different locations. That being said; i feel as though this episode was a bit different and not just because finally T-Bag is in it a bit.

What i think i enjoyed best about this particular episode was the dueling genius tactics that keep taking place between Michael and Poseidon (aka Jacob.) They continually think they are one step ahead of the other only to find out a few minutes later that they have actually been one-upped by the other guy. I guess that is what happens when two people who are both meant to be really really clever butt heads
I am actually very excited about watching the season finale, which is the next episode and will do so right after i finish this blog-post.
I was happy to see that T-Bag was back in the series after he really didn't have much to do with this season at all. If his only involvement is going to be to have him meet his son who he has never known, I question the motive behind Michael going so far out of his way just to make that union take place. There is still one more episode to go so I suppose I will wait and see.
Now onto things I had a problem with:
- Lincoln just happens to know an international drug smuggler that can get them into the USA undetected
- Jacob / Poseidon's office has an extremely advanced face scanner in order to gain entry yet if you look in the back of those same scenes his office has loads of windows and is located on the ground floor
- The gangsters who are after Lincoln are exceptionally inept considering they are involved in what is bound to be an exceptionally complicated international drug-smuggling network
- the foreshadowing of the male hitman guy from 21-Void turning away from the dark side was a bit too telegraphed (he hasn't done so yet, but I'll bet money on it.)
- The fact that every sentence of dialogue that Michael speaks is done with a menacing whisper is annoying. It doesn't matter if he is speaking to his estranged wife, his estranged brother, his son he has never met, or an enemy combatant; The dialogue is always in a whisper. I couldn't be friends with someone I cant hear.
- whatever "Whip" discovered in the middle of lake Michigan better end up being significant because it was not explained at all in the episode. It wasn't even clearly shown on camera
- How does everyone have money to rent cars and boats? Where did they get guns? I know it is proclaimed easy to get a gun in USA but you still need to have money to make that happen.. Weren't they just in a super crisis about not having any cash at all?
All in all I would say that season 5 has been a lot better than the past 2 seasons but not as good as the first 2. I would say it is definitely worth watching. That is of course unless you completely ignored my spoiler warning and now you know everything that happens.
You just have to forget everything you know about real life and just accept that what is happening, is happening in order to fully enjoy it.
Hmm nice plot on episode 8 out of the total 9 episodes season 5. Just like you i am too really harsh towards this so called block buster show. I noticed many times that episodes are the same. I mean seriously? You guys are so out of new scenes that you keep on innovating previous ones. If this is what people like the show for. Then never mind but they have a s***t taste. Season 5 was much of a twist for me, my expression was that 'okay prison break what is it this time', i initially thought Michael had lost his memory when he saw lincoln but alas he did not, too twisted
Yes i also did question michaels intentions as to reuniting T-bag and his son. But towards the end i had a better understanding as to michaels motives let me not tell you how it all plays out but i think it never has worked well for them involving their kids in their issues. Lincon had this same issue. Why was i excited that T-bag (the scumbag) was back into the mix?

it's a series not a movie and i would say there is probably much better stuff out there to watch. I don't have Netflix but I would bet it is on there too

Thanks for the plot. Indeed that spoiler coz I am not in a mood of watching this one. I will just watch the last one. Great to have T-bag 's involvement in this episode 8. Michael poseidon think they are ahead but you know they are fooling themselves coz the others have surpassed them already. I liked the plot more a bit because this episode wasn't much the same as previous ones, which quite often happens in prison break.
