Putin: We will do everything to ensure the safety and security of South Ossetia

Two days from now will be the 10-year anniversary since Russia formally recognized the Republic of South Ossetia's independence. On the 26th of August, following a Georgian offensive on the city of Tskhinval which erupted into the 2008 South Ossetia War, then President Medvedev signed presidential decrees recognising the independence of both neighbouring Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Despite newly launched attempts to rewrite the events that happened there by Western propaganda campaigns - the citizens and their leader Anatoly Bibilov, continue to thank President Putin and Russia for putting an end to hostilities and allowing for what he describes a life of ''stability, peace and prosperity''. Condoleezza Rice, Saakashvili and all other actors that played a part in the destabilization of the region are long gone, but the effects are still felt, but are now controlled in a stable environment under Russia's wing.
