Like a magnet to an iron,
he feels the attraction at a slight glance.
Just one more step to move closer to her,
one slight chance to hold her in his arms,
but he was denied;
denied the right to bond with his own child.
Bounded by emotional guilt and regrets,
with his eyes as red as fire,
his heart as bitter as the nuts from cola,
he reluctantly walked out.

She feels it but she couldn't comprehend,
she has never for once spoke of him,
I wonder if she knows someone like that exists,
she has grown to know her mother,
aunties and grandparents as her family,
asides these, she knows of no one else.
But at his sight, she feels it,
she knows it, just that she barely understands the relationship.
As a child that she is,
she shook it off and continued her routine.

I wonder what made him neglect her since conception.
Could it be fear? Could it be that the news met him off-the-cuff?
I wonder what drama would be staged
when she realised that he is her dad,
will she embrace him with joy
or reject him out of disappointment?
Whichever way it goes,
I sincerely wish to see them pick up their broken pieces,
gum it together and stay forever.

I really wish to see them come together as a family,
forgetting the hurts of the past and focusing on the future.
I hope to see their picture frame
hanged on the wall of their home as a happy family.
