Final Bits of Color in the Garden
The year is definitely winding down, particularly in our garden.
After a long dry spell, the autumn storms have started, blowing leaves off trees and depositing fresh snow on the distant mountains.
Picked the last of the tomatoes today... not bad to still have tomatoes on October 28th!
It was not a great season this year, but we got about 6 large bags put away in the freezer.
Also brought in the last of the blackberries; not very many. This year they all seemed to rot before they could actually ripen... quite disappointing.
This summer went a bit sideways because we had so many days with heavy fogs that lasted all day... when we really needed sunshine.
Better luck next year!

With everything winding down, soon comes the time to clean up all the raised beds, feed the soil and winterize for next year's growing season.
The urban homesteader's work is never done!
Till the next, thank you for visiting! All photos are my own, usually taken in nature, from the nearby beach, or around our property.
