Dibujando a Grimhilde - Drawing Grimhilde.
Greetings, as some will know I really like the evil characters, without them the stories would not have much to tell, this time I wanted to draw the evil queen of Snow White based on a photo of the scene of the film which I will put here below , the truth is that he wanted to give a little volume to his whole body, normally the Disney drawings are with simple colors and flatter they do not have a lot of volume, so put a bit of shadows and mix several skin tones to get this result.
Following the reference image I was putting together my sketch, it does not look exactly the same but at least it looks like it, paint the background in a somewhat dark tone since this helps me to see better the parts that I need to color, so I redrew the sketch lines on top of this layer but in a more orderly way and I started to paint the face, as I mentioned I wanted a face with volume so first put on very neutral base tones and then add some shadow and with the airbrush blur all these skin tones.
Now paint your clothes using the colors similar to those in the reference photo. I was filling each part of your clothing as well as the crown, add some light in certain areas and continue with the background.
For the background, I wanted to do something different from the original image, with very intense purple tones that matched her clothes and makeup and at the same time it was very striking, so I started putting a strong purple base and in another layer I made some spirals playing between darker purple tones and lilac tones almost reaching white, to have this psychedelic effect use the “finger” tool to drag the lines of my spiral and put them in that pointy way, once I finish fixing the entire background I have already by finalized the drawing.
