What a long day but the garden is finally planted!

in #gardening6 years ago

I’ve been preparing the plot and soil for a few weeks now, and today it was finally the day to get the seeds in the ground.

My buddy Eli even came up to help!

After much debate and back and forth, (with my wife) we settled on just keeping the ground the way it was, putting some “super mix” soil along the rows with the seeds. We just couldn’t get our act together to try out the no dig technique this year. But the plan is to add a heavy dose of compost and manure in the fall.

Well see how it goes! I’ll try to keep everyone in the loop.

Whoa thats huge🤤 Ed has garden envy.

Yeah, it's definitely a bit much, makes for alot of extra work!

How are you watering? Doing drip, flood, overhead? Those rows look perfect for drip lines.

Nice on the marigold headers, I'm trying to get them to naturalize here and see if I can get them to seed themselves.

Yeah, the marigolds were Eli's touch, he swears by then keeping out the rodents and rabbits so we'll see.

Otherwise I just use the sprinkler, I have unlimited water around here.

Looks great! Happy growing. What's going in the ground?

It's mostly viney, leafy crops, they always seam to do the best in the past, squash, pumpkin, zucinni, cucumbers, beans and peas, and of course alot of tomatoes.

Sounds like a great lineup. Go with what works right? Thanks for getting back :)

Need some worm Shit in there - God's Gold!!

I do have my worm factory in the basement, I'll be adding a couple trays for sure.

Great stuff, if you have any questions or need tips give me a yell.

Lookin awesome @phelimint! check out https://www.dripdepot.com/ I just helped set up an irrigation system for some row crops at a local homeless empowerment garden operation and I loved their drip tape system. It comes as a kit for row crops.

Wow, that does look pretty awesome, I really need to check out something like this for sure. Thanks!

It is a beautiful garden that is growing in the garden area. It will be much bigger than me. I like the garden very much. At first you are doing this garden. It is so beautiful that it will surely grow in the garden area. If you do a lot of good work, it is very good to see around us and travel to Mora I can enjoy enjoying flowers in the gardens when it blossoms That person good luck to you from us are gardens to go ahead...
