But since the pic, we've done work. There's a big hugelkultur bed there now as well as the smaller beds that can be somewhat made out. In the pic are a plum tree and about a dozen baby pecan trees too. Eventually this part of the yard will be a small food forest. Every little orange flag marks the location of a comfrey root cutting.

Small progressive changes!

recharging my voting power....lol...i'll come back and upvote this later. ;)

Sweet, thanks!

How does that work? I've never really paid attention to my VP.

SteemConnect... however @steempeak does have a work around to show how to get posting key to work. Otherwise steemconnect is usually active key based.

it's so great!!!! just log in with steemconnect. it will prompt you for which key.

@partiko is an incredible mobile app...if you haven't found that yet. lol...i also love @steemify app for mobile notifications. cheers on steepshot....i love that thing!!!!!!!!!!!! @appics soon too! this blockchain is growing soooo fast!

yesssssss nate!!!!!!!!! orange flags ....of comfrey cuttings!!!!!!!!!!!! it's SO ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please keep sharing!!!!!!

I can't take credit for all of it. I mostly just waited for rain lol

Now that there's so much there, I'm being more religious about watering. Not this week though, it's raining again!!

those deep tap roots are gonna cruise down...and mine minerals...and find water! cheers bro!!!!!

Dude, they go down as deep as twelve feet! There's TREES that don't get roots down that far!!

Super excited. If all the cuttings grow, we'll have 34 plants lol so far we have 3 coming up.

such a great way to start a food forest! wood chips...and miners like comfrey!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the pioneer plants...that will remain...and build the forest with you!!!! cheers for all you're doing in texas bro!!!!!!!

Wow!!! Looking beautiful bro. I can see the future if the forests there. Great choice with the pecans too, I think a lot forget to put nut trees in when they are starting their forest gardens.

It's luck in this case. The neighbors have a pecan tree, and it must have laid eggs in our yard or something :)

Sounds like fate rather then luck to me 😉

Maybe so! They're gonna be a blessing for sure! There's another larger one in the alleyway out back that I may transplant to our yard this winter. It's a few years older than these little ones and MAY actually produce next year! It and my little plum tree would be my canopy trees for the start of my food forest. And our giant oak trees.

Oh man this is solid gold bro! That would be cool if you could get John Kohler with growingyourgreens over to Steemit! I love your energy and drive! Please keep it coming!

@dynamicgreentk thanks brother, glad you enjoyed it 😁
Yeah that would be great, I will have to start trying to network with him 🤔

Thank you fir the support @c-squared, I am honored! 😁❤️

you mentioned growing rare stuff....you aren't growing yet. i don't think i've seen hardy kiwi....on your land yet. have you given that any thought? varieties like issai....are self fertile. i bet they would take OFF....on one of your structures...or fences!!!! this is the SPOT...for cool varieties. we are growing many of the varieties...but you need a male...and years to production...are much longer. not that you mind....years....to seeing fruit! ;) https://onegreenworld.com/product-category/vines/kiwis/hardy-kiwis/

yessssss!!!!!!!! not sure it can handle his climate zone outside. ours freeze down to nubs...even in our greenhouse here. they grow back...though. ;)

Good call brother! I heard of a number of people just growing them as an annual every year. It sounds like a cool idea to me 😁👍

Yeah hardy kiwi is a great idea.
I actually had 3 established ones in the ground about s year of two ago. My issue was I put them on a fenceline that was to small and they just took the whole thing over. It became super invasive after s few years and was crowding itself out to much, due to bad location and planting to close. So I took it out last winter and brought it to a friends house (an 81 yr old man) and planted it there cause he has 15 acres .
I should get a new one though and a better variety, then plant it in my chicken pen and see if it gets enough light.
I think I will. Great suggestion though @rawutah keep them coming .
I have a jujube tree with fruit that should ripen relatively soon. I’m excited to show that one 😁

Had to come check you out over here! I meant to ask on YouTube but I guess I can ask here. Do you have any Paw Paw in your food forest? If not you should add some, excellent fruit!

Hey @wholesomeroots! Thanks for coming over. I actually don’t, but my neighbor has 3 big paw paw trees so he shares with me. 😁
If He didn’t have a few planted I would put some in though. Great suggestion 👍
