Cleaning up the frog pond.
With the pond water level low yesterday I decided it was time to dreg out some of the muck from the pond before refilling it. Using a kids fishing net I pulled out about 5 buckets of silt and rotting leaves that should make a decent boost to the soil around the pond when I dig it into the soil.
Once done I connected the hosepipe to the old filter system to fill up the pond and refresh the water.
Today the pond looks much better and with us actually having a decent amount of rain overnight I'm hoping that some of the plants will start to pick up.
Nice idea for a garden, how deep is the pond?
It's about 3 foot at the deepest point.
Nice, that would probably keeps Herons out, but also probably more of a concern with fish rather than frogs.
thanks for the info.
Nice to know you got a bit of rain there - still nothing in sight here!
