Back again with me @zulman discussing another old games in order to bring back sweet old days memories for those of you who ever heard about the game and giving you information about some best old games for those of you who never heard about it. In today's post, I would like to talk about the game that still belong to the genre of Racing, the game called "Lamborghini : American Challenge".

Alright. How are things going everyone? I hope everything is going fine, especially in the beginning of this new year. Still, back with me again for another review of MS-DOS games, games that was released for DOS platform and released in the year below 2000. For today's article, i would like to discuss or review one DOS game or old game that belong to the genre of Racing video games. The game that I am going to talk about today is actually almost similar to another racing video games. But, the difference is that the car the player will use to drive only specific for the Italian giant super car maker. Yes, as it state in the title of this article, it is the Lamborghini. I never play this game before, so here i am going to try to play it and give my little two cent about this video game. So, stay tuned and keep reading.

The game that i am going to discuss today has a full title of Lamborghini : American Challenge. This game come with a good gameplay. One thing that made it stand out with some of other racing video games is in term of the car upgrade. There are many thing in the car that the player use to drive could be available for update. The upgrade for the car that the player drive is almost details, The player can upgrade the engine to increase the performance, upgrading tire to increase handling, upgrading transmission and many more. Details is in next section. With this kind of upgrade available, this game has become one of the game that i think is worth to try. It almost remind me of my most favorite racing video game, The NEED FOR SPEED Underground. So, in order to win the race, the player must upgrade the car carefully with the money they have. Yes, the player will need money to upgrade car which is acquired from winning the race. So, keep balancing between what is needed and what is not needed when upgrading the cars.

Well, before we are going to talk in details about Lamborghini: American Challenge video game, I would like to remind you that as the title of the game suggest, the game only have Lamborghini sport cars available to drive. So, if you do not like the idea of only one brand of cars to drive in the video games, then i do not think you will like the game. But for those of you who do not care about it. Let's start talking about this game. We will start about the history, development and give my opinion on this game.

Now, let's begin by learning a bit about this racing video game.

Lamborghini: American Challenge Racing Game.

Lamborghini American Challenge video game is a vide game that belong to the genre of Racing. The video games was released in the year of 1994. The developer of the game is Titus Software. They are also published the game for several platform such as Super NES, Amiga CD32, Game boy and MS-DOS. Before the game was release as the tittle as it is. Actually the game is previously released with another name. Previously, the game was released with the title Crazy Cars III. But then, The game title was changed when it is finally release. Titus software was a company that was found in France by two brothers named Eric and Herve Caen. The company was found in 1985.

This video game is actually not an original game that Titus Software developed. What i mean is that, the games is actually and update from their previous game which is called Crazy Cars. Lamborghini American Challenge is the update version of Crazy Cars franchise. However, the game add some notable feature by adding head-to-head or two player mode to the game and also some other options. The soundtrack in the game is also very interesting.

This video games get a lot of positive review. The Amiga version of this game get 88 percent rating by Tony Dillon. he says:

The most competent and enjoyable game that Titus have ever produced, and a game well worth having. It might not be as smooth as Lotus, as fast as F1 or as playable as Jaguar, but it's still a cool game

However, Although the game mostly get good reviews, there are also some complaints out there by the player of this game. The game has a problem with the saving system. In order to save the game, there is a bit different with another racing game. in this game, you are not allowed to save the game every each race after you complete. In fact, the player only able to save the game after the player complete for at least four races. But the real complaints is not from this, it is actually the requirement of progressing to the next race is the player need to be the first. It mean, the player need to win the race in order to progress. So, because of the saving system, the player need to win four race consecutively in order to be able to save the game. Not, a good feature isn't it?

Alright, now let's talked about the gameplay of Lamborghini: American Challenge.

Lamborghini: American Challenge Gameplay

The gameplay of this game is very similar to another racing video game. The main purpose of the player in this game is to defeat an undisputed racing champion. He is a very illegal street racing that will known in the Unite States. When the player start the game for the first time, the player will drive a Lamborghini Diablo. this car at first is not fast enough, the player need to upgrade it in order to be the champion. The race will be played in three leagues, each league become harder and harder, so, that is why the player need to upgrade their car.

The opponents of the player that will be race again in this game is racers that controlled by computer, the player need to participate in this illegal racing and win it in order to able to beat the bos. to get the money, the player need to win the race and also from the bet the player put before the race was start. The money the player will get when winning the race is the bonus that the player will get plus the the bet money from another opponents. this money can be use to bet for another race or upgrade cars.

in term of track or arena, the race will take place in a various track. There are the desert, mountain road, and urban area. There also some nice feature add to the track while racing. There is a wether condition as well. sometimes, when the race is goin on, the wether condition is snowing or raining. This is certainly a nice feature that available for the game as well.

In term of control, there is not much for this game, it is only a usual control for racing game with is:

My opinion about Lamborghini: American Challenge video games.

Well, after experiencing the gameplay of Lamborghini: American Challenge video game. I think this game is one those good racing game available out there. Especially in the era of the 90s. This game have a good gameplay and really nice soundtrack. The way the driver or the player can upgrade the car in such details is what make me think this game is quite good. Because of this upgrades you have to make in order to win the race, the gameplay of this racing video game become more interesting as the player need to balance out the money they spend for upgrading.
