MINI-CONTEST! I'm Giving Two Upvotes This Time (3 Hour Time Limit) - Blockchain Gaming

in #gaming6 years ago

First of all if you haven't already heard there is an upcoming game coming on the steem network. It is a card game called steem monsters and you can check out the link here: steemmonsters.com. Right now they are in Alpha and you can buy packs that got $5. To celebrate this, this contest is about steem blockchain gaming.

Give me your ideas for a blockchain game you would want to see on the steem blockchain. More specially how it would work with the blockchain. Card games a great use of it as you can put the cards themselves on the blockchain. You can also have MMO items. But lets get more creative. For example a mario game where the coins that you collect go in your wallet or a fighting game that lets you fight for coins. The most inventive two will get a full upvote each. You can give me a game that already exists or just the genre. But the important factor is how it will work on the blockchain.

I picture an RPG (MMO or standalone with connectivity) where the blockchain tracks/verifies all stats (no modding your character). All loot has a value that can be sold for crypto (Exchange rates apply). So ... the longer you play, the more crypto you can earn.

Because of the crypto, there could be different realms. One Realm will only allow withdrawls and not allow trading with other players (NPC's only). This realm is for those that only want the strategy of the game and the benefit of withdrawl.

A separate realm would allow trading with other players and investing. So, essentially, you could buy the Godly Gear if you wanted to invest fiat into your game. In this Realms, factions would be beneficial as they could pump up newb's. In this realm, gear could be sold in-game or IRL.

With the blockchain, there can be PVP arena's. Because of the blockchain, you'd be able to see everything that your opponent had ever done (all the way back to the genesis block) - essentially allowing you to do your homework to allow you to see every trick the opponent has ever tried.

I'm picturing something similar to ElderScrolls Online, but with cryptocurrency.

winner vote

Very cool.

Thanks for holding the contest!

This is kind of old but it's a forum game I love, I want to see in steemit and it could work with the monetization system. It's called Mafia and it's a game of voting the rules of the generic mafia are right here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_(party_game)

We could implement this to work with the blockchain by giving rewards for lynched mafia members for town people and giving rewards for killed town members for mafia based on the role of the one killed, and giving rewards when one of the two sides wins.

This can be done with different themes like "space mafia" given the role of each player using a card base system kinda like a hybrid with steem monsters. With the guy hosting as the moderator.

I think I've seen a Mafia game (or maybe Werewolf, they're the same game) being run around here. It was weeks ago though. I wonder if Google can find it for me. Not easily I guess. It looks like @yekrats was interested in running one at one time but I don't know if it ever got anywhere.

Winning vote because a forum game would be easily doable here.

An interesting game would be a board game like Risk where you can deploy resources up to a certain amount to defend or attack others on a map you share. Resources could be link to your wallet.

That would be interesting but then you wouldn't want to spend them :p

What if spending the resources would lead to pillaging another nation, possibly bringing you even more resources?

Runner up upvote

How about just the arcade concept itself where you enter your high score after playing a game.

You could log in before you play and earn coins when you hit the TOP10 spot in any crypto-arcade. Hence the incentive to give it your best shot!

That might be too general for your post requirements though :P

No I like it, it would be fun, runner up

It could replace those fake coins altogether, and be tradable!

I might suggest a little of a Dungeon Crawler that is party based. You can hook up with other blockchain players in pick up groups or form your regular party and conquest a la Diablo 3 against the legions of spammers and @overkillcoin monsters. You can get unique random or class specific items that would be tradable at the market for Crypto, and earn currency for completing missions.

Then you could team up with other groups and undertake more perilous and rewarding epic adventures or even square off group vs group in an arena stylle showdown for fame (Ranking ladder) and cash (prizes.)

The important integration with the block chain is your character is unique to you and associated with your blockchain account, and rewards, commerce will use the same wallet. I wish I knew more about how the game could reside on the block chain but may have to just interface through APIs. If several block chains can interface, you could even have an in-person (online as your character) currency exchange where you can help people convert from one currency to another like a bazaar.

I shall be henceforth known as Lord Zeke!!

Hail and well met!

Oh this one is a challenging one! I'm pretty excited about Steem Monsters because it seems that its going to be similar to crypto fighters and i enjoy that game as a basic blockchain game. We already have a Steemgar game here on Steem so thats out of the question.

I have played around in my mind about a MMO game based on the blockchain, where the whole economy is based on a blockchain, could be Steem, the mining occurs when the users kill mobs to loot for items for example, a small portion of currency is generated and then that currency can be converted 1:1 to lets say Steem or you could use it in game to buy items from other players or NPC and if you buy from npcs the currency gets burned, it doesn't have to be a lot that gets mined when a mob dies, because that would cause insane numbers to happen quickly, maybe if using something steem based, a portion of the yearly inflation can be allocated to the game.

Doing these things to MMO games could finally make playing games a real job, where playing a lot and doing commerce and participating on a game economy generates enough revenue for you to live a decent life.

I'm a huge world of Warcraft fan, so i was thinking of replacing WoW's gold with Steem when i thought about this, i also came up with an idea for a blizzard crypto currency, where the currency gets mined when the players play any blizzard game, of course with some sort of daily/weekly/monthly limit, to prevent insane amounts of inflation of the currency.

There would need to be a lot of math done to make a system like this one work, but its not impossible, and playing around the auction house and trading materials would be amazing when you know they have a real world money value too, we are on the midst of the digital economy and i can't wait for what the future will bring in regards to blockchain and gaming lol.

I'd really like interactive fiction games like BirdLand on the blockchain. (I picked that one cause I like it and it's free and short.) There are already some pretty neat scripting applications for building them and I think a blockchain layer could allow for some interesting innovations like moving assets between games and giving creators of other games special success paths.

I think the concept of moving assets between games is the big value of the blockchain.

Most of the time we are talking about coins, items, etc...

What about XP or actual unique characters.

hey! Nice news! First of all i love gaming and steemit provides a good platform to integrate those.

If you did not know about:

@steemplaroom

you should checkout their steem game steemgar which is similar to agrar.io where your goal is to eat food and other competitors to become the biggest in the game.

Another one is @steemnova

nice browser based mmorpg where a galactic emperor thriving for power and might. Check out a post of mine going a bit into detail if u are interested.

Aaaaand here comes my proposal: I would love to see the board game risk on the steemit blockchain. There is a nice browser game out there called Supremacy1914. Check it out.

So..how would it work? First get the ones from supremacy on board then modify the game like the previous games before. If I see into my ball of fortune I see games...#FREE# games I mean not the bullshit kind of manifestation of evil that thinks ''I suck ur money out and even if i can't get ur money I focus then on those guys who may pay a fortune to get faster forward in this game'' which makes the games actually pay to win. Hate it. How the devs break their own great games. Those games which provide custom decorational items to acknowledge the devs are not included. They are just foiund a way to make a fair buck.By developing a game on the steemit blockchain we could get a completely community driven game. Thus most of the work is already done we just need to honor the devs which have done the work and give the game into the hands of the community.

So imagine playing 'risk aka supremacy aka just conquer the whole goddamn planet'. You login and see a nicely designed character profile. You start as a nobody and will be able to achieve better ranks and medals giving u special power in the network of the game as an example.

U want to start a new game and you just browse a list of games with different settings as size, speed, year, special events, skills, pay to win, play to win, already started, incoming and more. Depending on what you wanna go for u select the game and dive in. The incentive of playing this kind of games on a blockchain is that these kind of games are highly competitive. Supremacy as an example is already rewarding, challenging and even teaching you how people behave in different situations. If you love drama, action, intrigues etc. u are welcome to have a look but if you would now imagine that joining a game may reward u with steem, sbd or sp or the winner of the match gets the pot in form of the complete upvote rewards of a blog post everyone realize how much potential there is.

Someone from @utopian-io may could get this done. Would love to see it. Would love to contribute to it. Thank you for the great post and I am already ready to get some new games to know or upvote some cool ideas :)

Cheers,
