0 A.D. - A Free And Open Source Strategy Video Game You Should Try
Greetings, fellow steem users! As I wrote in a separate article on my website, The Dockyards, I would equally hereby like to present a free and open source RTS (real-time strategy) video game you should try at some point if you're really into this gaming genre.
To put it in a nutshell, the game's called '0 A.D.' and revolves around the historical period of antiquity with a timeline spanning from 500 B.C. to 500 A.D. (which roughly coincides with the fall of the Roman Empire). As such the player can control a number of ancient civilizations, ranging most notably from the Britons, Gauls, to Romans, and Greeks.

Developed initially as a mod for the critically-acclaimed and highly popular Age of Empires III, 0 A.D. was subsequently turned into a proper stand alone video game by Wildfire Games, a team of independent developers. The first stable version of the game was released in July, 2017.
Since its alpha release, the game enjoyed favourable critics and reviews on, most importantly, specialized websites such as Mod DB, Sourceforge.net, and LinuxQuestions.org. For more details on the gameplay, you can check the official website of the game here, at play0ad.com.
